So... I won some money!!!

So - I did, I won some money and because my husband's away (which is a whole other post on it's own), I'm getting stuck into the house, because when the kids go to bed, what else is there to do?  Drink Wine and Paint of course!! :)  So I went shopping -  a quick shop at Mr Price with three kids under 7, before church - thankfully our church starts at 10 - late sleeper?  Check it out - e-mail me, I'll give you directions!! :)


So, in 45 minutes I managed to put 2 cushions, 1 wire heart hook thingie, a tray, oven gloves, 3 picture frames and 3 toys to appease the kids into my trolley and R600 later walked out of the shop and off to church we went, gave an offering and wallah - R700 spent.  But - and here it is the big But - I realised, because I work at Volpes and get a staff discount - why did I spend R200 on two cushions? for my lounge that that currently boasts 10 cushions on 4 couches...  so after some contemplation and a cuppa after the service, we speedily went to the bigger and better Mr Price, where I returned what I'd bought 2 hours previously and walked out with... the tray, the oven gloves and a heart chalk board for my kitchen... I spent the whole night dreaming about what I was going to buy and I walked away with a tray, oven gloves and a heart chalk board???

This after I was planning to get some good looking ornamenty type things for my lounge and diningroom.  Anyway... I didn't -  I have the money in my wallet and when next I get a "gap" if that's what you want to call it - Me an my three kids (I know that was grammatically incorrect - it was done on purpose!) - will go and look and see what we can find to make my lounge and diningroom look totally wreck appealing to the kids! I had my lampstand broken in half today - thanks to the boy - FLIPSAKES - Boys are something else!!! LOVE HIM - but flipsakes - IS HE BUSY!!  He climbs on anything and everything, he jumps and romps and totally just wrestles his way through life!!

Talking about wrestling - mom is now the designated wrestler with Bobby away - oh you don't know about that hey - well he's been gone since about the 25th of October - I will probably see him on the last weekend of November and then he goes again until the 22 December - he's away for work - got a lovely contract, which makes it worth it!  But Flip do we miss him!!!   and another !!!!!!

So I've re-done my kitchen and re-arranged my lounge (with no ornaments!!! - yet).  I have had a few days of being sick so on those nights I kissed the kids goodnight and switched off the lights and jumped into bed myself - thankfully I'm feeling a bit better - was a bit concerned that I may be pregnant again - can you imagine! 4 Babies!!??? yoh!

So in the next few nights I'm painting door frames, tv cabinet, beds, bookcases and blogging a bit in between too (how cools is that alliteration!?)

But for now - in order for me to stop rambling - I'm going to try (for the 3rd time) to finish watching Eat Pray Love

Pink Nails & Filter Coffee

So, after being reminded by a fellow co-worker today about my blog, well not really a fellow co-worker because he's a manager and well I'm a... I'm a marketer - an online marketer - for my new job at Volpes!! How cool is that, I got a job at a company that started in 1929 - that's around 82 years ago... I think - did I get the maths right?

Anyway, after a lunch time chat, I realised that I haven't blogged for ages and now I realise that I think I've started a lot of my posts with - something about how long it's been since I've blogged ha ha ha

Oh well - call me the in between blogger!

My nails are pink - yay for mom-in-laws who visit the UK and bring me back really nice pressies! The coolest part about these pink nails is that I actually have nails - I haven't bitten my nails in about 2 or 3 months - how good! so proud of myself - so hoping to be a good example to little Carly - so she's not sucking her fingers anymore - after a couple of days of me wrapping her fingers with tape so she couldn't suck them - we finally broke the habit - now to just get her to stock biting her nails - so let's hope moms beautiful pink nails encourage her!

So they're all on holiday and I miss them terribly - but I really am enjoying the break - working really is a break for me. There is order, a chain of command, rules that we all obey - mostly and there are adults - lots and lots of adults!! YAY!! What a nice thing to be surrounded by people who don't want to play puzzles and draw and play hide and seek all day.

So I started there on 1 July - day one... instant coffee and a very afrikaans radio station in the background, day two - instant coffee and headphones, day three - headphones and filter coffee and a one cup bodum - ha ha - I'm such a coffee snob! and a music snob too - sorry but I can't even speak the language, must I really listen to the language to a tune all day - I think not!! ha ha

I was getting some photos and stuff together this morning to take with to work to stick on my wall and after accumulating all my piccies of my gorgeous babies, I piled them together and put them back where they came from - I just couldn't bring myself to take all my personal pictures to work - I'm blogging about how private I actually am ha ha - what a joke - but seriously I don't know what it was - I just couldn't do it!

Anyway - I'm now a proper working mom - I don't see my babies the whole day - no lunch time pick ups, nothing - and after despising the idea for so many years - I must confess I'm really enjoying it - really!!

Leila's taking strain a little - she phones me a million times a day to ask me what she should do, or tell me how her sister is irritating her or how she is missing me - shame I hope she gets used to the idea soon - but my lovely new nanny is such a GodSend - I just hope Leila takes Carly and Jethro's lead and learns to love her!

Now me and my beautiful long pink nails are going to sleep, got to get up for work tomorrow - got lots to do!! Looking forward to it - but before I do that I need to think up a couple of creative things for the kids to do tomorrow - think I may mix some powder paint up for them - although my maid my just quit if I leave her alone with a 7, 5 and 2 year old with a couple of jars of paint....

I think I'll sleep on it!

I have like 700 odd friends on facebook which is cool except its 700 unsuspecting old friends, new friends and some friends who I don't really know that end up getting all my posts all the time, so basically that's a potential of 700 people getting peed off with me - so yay blogging from my cellphone, that won't necessarily show up on everyones newsfeed...

Tonight I'm in bed watching heroes - I'm so addicted - love the show - wish I was a super hero!!! Had some wine - nice and now cozy in bed with no threat of one eyed snakes bothering me hee hee - husband's asleep on the couch!

My daughter (the 7 year old) made biscuits today - All on her own, we've packaged them and she's selling them for R5 a bag - 3 biscuits in a bag and don't bother asking for a discount for a bulk purchase - not gonna happen!! In fact she convinced her little sistter (the 4 year old) to clean their room - they share - she first said shed give her sister biscuits at half price if she cleans it up - luckily dad stepped in and little carls got 3 biscuits for her efforts - absolutely free ha ha

My big girls is an entrepreneur and my four old is soooo neat - I can't believe how well she cleaned their room - sooo very impressed - except now I know what she's capable of and this seems like a lovely combo for me, leila can make the money, carly can clean the place and I can be a coo girl and have coffee all day? Ha ha - as if

Anyway, my phones light is flashing but not from a message - battery flat...
