There is always a reason!

Do you want to know why I don't post that often - ok - let me rephrase... Do you want to know why I only post once a year.. :) - Because I keep forgetting my damn login details!!!!  I'm surprised I remember my kids birth dates man!

There is just so much going on and so much has changed in my life since November last year!!  I resigned from my job - but I'm still working there - but as a contractor - so yay for more flexibility - little less yay for job security - but because that's not really what I need from a job - I'm totally fine with how it is!

WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!! and almost as exciting I DISCOVERED PINTEREST! So many divine decor ideas!  We got a 100% bond - so super duper excited, we can paint and renovate my Old Victorian Beauty!  YES - VICTORIAN - Two fire places, bay window, long wide passage, wooden floors... LOVE IT!  We've rented for 7 years!!  I like to call them the 7 lean years - hoping that from November this year the fat kicks in (obviously not on me!) - The fat years!!

So anyway, since this blog is titled MOTHERHOOD (loving the CAPITALS tonight ha ha)...  I thought I would just share with you the following few facts I've discovered in the last year about motherhood:

1.  Children are THE most selfish creatures
2.  Love truly is UNCONDITIONAL when you're a mom - because - no matter how crap they were to you during the day, you will always go and check that they are covered up at night before you go to bed.  Some nights I walk in there mumbling under my breath - "I should just leave you uncovered you little brat"  but find myself going over to their beds, pulling the blankets up higher and kissing them. (then walking out feeling so bad  that I could even think that!!)
3.  No matter what role I take on, whether it be wife, employee (contractor), sister, daughter or friend, there is one role that I will always have - till the day I die... MOTHER

THE UNCONDITIONAL MOTHER!  This is the mother who loves when she's feeling hurt, who fixes things when she's feeling sick.  The one who makes a plan and keeps her kids tummies full, this is the mother who puts herself second (most of the time), so her children can have.

I have to encourage all the moms out there this Women's Day - You are probably all way better than I am at doing this very intense job - but I'm sure that you have the odd day when you feel like a failure (I have the odd day when I feel like I did something right!).. On those days remember this.. YOU ARE AN UNCONDITIONAL MOTHER - i.e. HAVE CHILD - WILL BE A MOM.

I have to believe that most people are good by nature, so most moms want to be good moms.  Just the desire you have to be a good mom (even if you feel you suck at it) is something to hold onto!  You will wake up in the middle of the night to see to your child (or employ a night nurse to do it for you).  You will make sure your kids are fed and clothed before you do (or open multiple accounts - so everyone wins).  HA HA - I'm rambling

The point is:  the words MOM AND UNCONDITIONAL LOVE mean the SAME

I may not be a great one, but I sure am trying!  TO MOMS!! Ching Ching!
